How God Sees You: What the Bible Says About Your Identity in Christ

I was at Bible study the other week, and we were asked a question that stuck with me: “How does God see you?”
My first thoughts went straight to performance. I found myself thinking, She listens to Me sometimes… she still has some things to work on. That was my answer, but it wasn’t the truth. My thoughts were more about how I see myself than how God sees me.
We were challenged to look at what the Bible says instead of what comes naturally to our minds. Because when we know Jesus—when we believe He died on the cross to pay for our sin—God no longer sees us through our inconsistency or our failures and sin. He sees us through Jesus, through His blood that has made us clean.
When I went home I did some more digging into what the Bible says about how God sees us, and what I found wasn’t a to-do-list.

That’s a very different picture than the one created in my own head.
God is not looking at us and keeping a running list of where we fall short. If you belong to Jesus, He sees you as forgiven, righteous, loved, chosen, made new, never alone, and His. That is your identity, whether you feel it or not.
So today, when your thoughts drift back to measuring or questioning where you stand, come back to what is already true. Not what you’ve earned, but what Jesus has given.
And if you’re reading this and you’re not sure you know Jesus in that way, let me ask you something:
Do you know Jesus? You can.
You can pray something like this:
“Jesus, I know I can’t save myself. I believe You died on the cross for my sin and rose again. I trust You as my Savior. Forgive me, make me new, and help me follow You.”
God says you are: loved, forgiven, righteous, chosen, made new, never alone, and His.
I’d love to hear from you
Let me know if you're Righteous, Right with God.
